Our reputation and experience in this area is so
extensive that we were one of only six (6) nationwide
organizations asked to assist The Department of State
and The Division of Licensing Services in developing
the course curriculum for all mandated training
courses for the licensing of security officers in the
State of New York.
We created our New York State Certified Security
Officer Training School in 1992 (Mulligan Security
Corporation Code # 310140) and our vision was to
create a facility that provided specialized
instruction for the security industry only. Its
purpose was to ensure the highest level of standard
and to provide continual training programs to all of
our security officers in addition to those mandated by
the Security Guard Act of 1992. All training is
preformed by in-house instructors to control the
content, time frame and quality of the curriculum.
In addition to the “Eight Hour Pre-Assignment Training
Course”, the “Sixteen Hour on the Job Training Course”
and the “Eight Hour Annual Refresher Course”, our high
level of professionalism is maintained by mandatory
attendance from all of our employees in custom
tailored classes such as, “Prevention of Sexual
Harassment”, “Cultural Diversity”, “Sensitivity
Awareness” and “Effective Communication Skills”.
Emergency and disaster training is also accomplished
by bomb threat awareness classes, evacuation drills
and fire safety seminars.

In 2001, Mulligan hired Stephen Chimento, a Retired
Captain from the FDNY with over 32 years of experience
in fire and life safety. His expertise has further
enhanced our ability to focus on providing our
employees with the most up-to-date curriculum on the
New York City’s Fire Safety codes and variances.
He has also developed training videos for tenants
including Price Waterhouse Cooper, CIBC, Cleary Gotlieb and
WTC Foundation Fund. Stephen has also been
instrumental to Mulligan in developing Fire Safety
Power-Point presentations which are site specific to
educate all Mulligan’s Fire Guards, Fire Safety
Directors and Building Evacuation Supervisors.
In June of 2002, Mulligan mandated that every security
officer, tour commander, site supervisor and account
manager must receive the “Fire Guard” License and must
also be certified by the New York Fire Department (FDNY).
